Brody is 6!

 photo Year6_zpszpdr296r.jpg
This was his Kindergarten Spring picture.  I did actually purchase some of these because I think they were pretty good.  He looks so big with his hands in his pockets.

He sure has grown a lot in 6 years.

Brody's 6th Birthday Interview:

1.  Who is your favorite person in the whole world?

2.  What is your favorite color?

3.  What's your favorite television show?

Mickey Mouse

4.  What's your favorite outfit?

"a church shirt"  ~ I could not get anything else out of him, but I suspect he means his special Basic Training shirt that he wears for Wednesday night group meeting.

5.  What sport do you like best?

6.  What song do you love?

"Um, I don't know.  La?  I love you?"  He knows and sings a ton of songs on the radio, but I guess it is hard to think of them when you aren't listening to them.

7.  What's your favorite cereal?

8.  Who is your best friend?

9.  What do you want to be when you grow up?

an artist

10.  What is your favorite book?

He said, "Let me go see."  Then, he brought me "The Tree Farmer" from his bookcase which he hasn't read in a long time if he ever really listened to it.

11.  What are you really good at?

12.  Where do you wish you could go on vacation?

" the...that's a tricky one...go to the aquarium"  He went recently for a school field trip.

13.  What is your best memory?

"looking at fish"

14.  What would you buy if you had $1000?

"some sugar"  Yep, that's some expensive sugar.  "To make a cake."

15.  What vegetable do you hate the most?

"Like broccoli"  I actually think he has eaten and liked broccoli and seems to like most vegetables he has tried.

16.  What food do you like best?

17.  What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

18.  What do you love most about yourself?

"Um, I like to play.  Oh and I am funny."  Yes, he is definitely funny.

19.  What do you like to do with your best friends?

"blocks.  Oh and I like to play in the dirt."

20.  What do you hope you'll get to do before your next birthday?

"I want to make my cake."   What do you want to do or see before your birthday?  "Um, I want to see some presents."  Sigh.  If you ever mention the word birthday, it is all about cake and presents.   He definitely loves celebrating birthdays.

Because birthday are so special to Brody, it always seems so important to have everything just right for his.  He really doesn't care about a big party with lots of guests, but he does think that some things are a necessity.  Decorations, cake, and presents are a must for him.  The presents don't have to be big or expensive, but they do have to be wrapped in pretty paper.  He really isn't a difficult child to make happy.  His love language is easy, and he is very easy to love most of the time.  Yes, he does have his moments (and yes, they are BIG moments because he has a BIG personality), but when this kid smiles, the whole world smiles with him.  Recently, we were at his new school walking down the crowded hall during the end of school parties, and I overhead some teachers (not his) in the hall commenting about what a sweet smile he has for everyone.  To me, that just describes Brody perfectly.  He has a smile for everyone!

For his birthday, we just want to give back to Brody and make him smile extra big.  This year, we discussed what he wanted to do, and he decided he wanted to play putt-putt.  He and Evan both have this enjoyment in common.  There aren't many putt-putt places in our area, but there are a couple of decent ones about an hour away in Hilton Head so we decided to make a beach day of it.  I also had to make Brody a special cake and wrap some presents for him.  I think he approved of all of our preparations.

For Brody, balloons, decorations and cake are very important and very appreciated.  He loved the Minecraft creeper cake I made him.

We enjoyed a nice birthday dinner at home with our little man.

Blowing out his candle and making a wish.  I love his smiles.  How can he be six years old?

On Saturday, we headed out to Hilton Head to play a game of putt putt.  Brody started his game off strong with a hole in one!

He has been playing putt putt since he learned to walk and is becoming a little pro.

Now, it is Mattox's turn to learn to play.

 photo birthday9_zpszoq6scnn.jpg
He was so cute chasing his ball all over the course and then putting it down right by the hole to hit it in.

I just love these boys and how much fun they have together.

Evan is an old pro at putt putt.

The course offered a lot of shade to help keep us cool, but all of the boys were still sweating.

This course was pretty nice with water features and lots of pretty trees and vegetation.

Despite a hot and tiring game of putt putt, Mattox still wanted to spend some time watching the fish before he went inside to cool off.

The boys played some arcade games to cool off.  Evan and Brody wanted to play Jurassic Park.

This cutie liked this little roller coaster ride simulator...or the seats anyway.

Evan showed little brother how to play skee ball.

Then, we hit the beach for some more cooling off.  It was a perfect day. The water was calm enough for Grayson to enjoy sitting in the surf.

I love that little bucket hat that all of our boys have worn.  I could do a comparison collage with all of them wearing it at the beach.

Brody enjoyed swimming while big brother Evan entertained his little brothers.

These boys enjoyed these rocking chairs outside Duck Donuts.  We loved getting some of these yummy donuts like the ones we missed from NC.

On Sunday, Brody got to open some presents and cards.

 photo birthday34_zpsj3wzqi8p.jpg
He enjoyed reading all of his cards while wearing his school birthday hat.

 photo birthday35_zpsgsref73o.jpg
He was so excited about his very own Minecraft Lego set.

 photo birthday36_zpsa8oyzv8n.jpg
And a Minecraft shirt too.  Mommy found a little theme for him this year since he does love playing Minecraft.  Unfortunately, the Minecraft Wii game has been broken AGAIN so I am not sure when it will be replaced.

 photo birthday37_zpseawiozrm.jpg
Brody also got to pick out a new big boy bike as he had outgrown his old one and Evan's old one too.  He loves this shiny blue one.
